B1G_MediaDay.jpgAs I sit in my room at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place in Chicago, I can't believe it's already here. Big Ten Football Media Days are upon us, which means the 2012 season is right around the corner. It seems like just yesterday the Illini were celebrating with the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl trophy in San Francisco. Now here we are in the Windy City with summer already a distant memory (at least that how it feels for an SID).

On Thursday morning, the Illini contingent of head coach Tim Beckman, quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase, defensive end Michael Buchanan and center Graham Pocic will answer countless questions about the 2012 football season. The players will start at 10:20 am with TV network interviews and then will go through the usual local TV rotations, one-on-ones and radio row interviews.

Beckman will take the podium in front of 100+ media members at 11 am CT. The Big Ten Network and BTN2Go will air Beckman's press conference, and all other head coach media sessions, throughout the day. The 11 am presser begins seven straight hours of media obligations for the new Illini head coach, which includes stops with Sirius XM radio, CBS, ESPN and a trip to the Comcast SportsNet Chicago studio for an appearance on Chicago Tribune Live at 5:30 pm CT.

Be sure to follow @IlliniFootball on Twitter for all the latest from #B1GFootball Media Days, and check back here on Thursday night for a full recap of Day 1, including notes, quotes, photos and video interviews.
