Tuesday Interviews: CF Willie Argo | 3B Brandon Hohl

The Fighting Illini opened fall practice on Sept. 5 and are approximately halfway through their fall season after Tuesday's practice. Illinois has begun the process of integrating 11 newcomers into the remainder of last season's team that won the Big Ten regular-season and tournament championships, and advanced to the title game of the NCAA Fullerton Regional.

The Orange and Blue return 10 lettermen and 12 other talented players from that 2011 squad, but they're focused on looking forward toward 2012 rather than celebrating last year's accomplishments. Center fielder Willie Argo is one of those returning lettermen after he turned down a contract offer from the Pittsburgh Pirates, who drafted him in the 43rd round of June's Major League Baseball Draft. Illinois also brings back starters from 2011 in right fielder Davis Hendrickson, third baseman Brandon Hohl and designated hitter Justin Parr.

The team has eight practices remaining on the fall schedule, along with the annual Scout Day on Wednesday, Sept. 28, and the Orange and Blue World Series from Oct. 3-5. Below is the remainder of the fall practice schedule.
