During the blitz combo period, freshman quarterback Chase Haslett had his red no contact jersey removed for the first time during camp. He made it out of the drill in one piece and even managed to complete a long sideline pass to Brandon Clear, who made a leaping grab and then tiptoed to stay in bounds. During the team section of practice, the team went live during third downs and goal line situations. The offense probably got the better of things overall, but the defense did rally to make a couple stops near the end.

Camp Rantoul continues on Wednesday with the final two-a-day of the fall. The Illini will go in helmets, shoulder pads and shorts from 8-10 am and then will strap on full pads for the evening practice from 6-8 pm. The team was originally scheduled to have three double sessions, but Monday's two-a-day was cancelled after Saturday's scrimmage was moved to Sunday due to thunderstorms.
All-Decade Team Specialists Announced
The University of Illinois announced the first group of players on the All-Decade Team Tuesday, with placekicker Jason Reda, return man Pierre Thomas and punter Steve Weatherford being named to the 31-player team. A new position group from the squad, which honors Illini who played between 2000-10, will be announced each weekday from Aug. 16-26.
