Thomas-at-practice.jpgOnly two practices remain at Camp Rantoul before the Fighting Illini return to campus, but the Orange and Blue are definitely getting the most out of the time they have remaining. While the team doesn't often go "live" often during practice, today was an exception during the final segment of the 11-on-11 portion of practice.

The Illini went live during some third-down scenarios and it didn't take long to see a highlight. Receiver Fritz Rock went up after a post route and Tavon Wilson met him in mid-air with authority, knocking the wind out of the redshirt-freshman. Rock was fine, but you can tell these guys are ready to let loose.

Thomas-sportstalk.jpgNew athletic director Mike Thomas made his first visit to Camp Rantoul during today's practice and he got a little taste of everything. He spoke with some staff members before sitting down with Steve Kelly and Loren Tate on WDWS' Sportstalk for a few minutes. Then, he addressed the team after practice ended and met with the media who were in attendance before heading back to Champaign for the evening.

If you haven't seen it yet, Camp Rantoul Episode 4 has been posted. The first segment has a little bit of a "Hard Knocks" feel to it as sophomore quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase was miked up during a practice earlier this week. Another great job by creative specialist Frank Lenti Jr.

Thursday interviews: AD Mike Thomas | Coach Zook | QB Nathan Scheelhaase

The third group of players on the All-Decade Team was revealed today, with the offensive linemen taking center stage. Jeff Allen, Jon Asamoah, Luke Butkus, David Diehl, Martin O'Donnell and Tony Pashos were the six men honored.

Friday's practice time has changed and the team will get started at 11 a.m. There are only two more chances to see the Illini practice in Rantoul, so come check out the team.
