Hello Illini fans!

We recently got back from playing at Marsh Landing in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. It was a really fun course that presented itself with tons of opportunities for birdies and allowed the field to be really aggressive on and around the greens. We made several goals going into the tournament that allowed us to focus on making birdies, committing to shots, and attacking the course. Ember and Sam did a great job of this throughout the tournament. Ember had the most birdies on the team, scoring eight! Crystal and Jackie each posted a solid round as well. The weather during the tournament was great and we found that our shirt tans are coming back nicely. It was sunny and hot every day and we soon became adapted to the humidity and smell of marsh and salt water. The course was in great condition and I hope that we have the opportunity to play on it again next year.

Hey there Illini fans,

Hope you are all enjoying the start of  Spring. I know our team did over this past week in Georgia! We may not have played to our best ability at the Insperity Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate, but we still had a fun trip and worked hard on golf at the same time. A highlight from the tournament was Ember Schuldt placing ninth with 75- 73-74.  The course, Forest Hills Golf Club, played challenging for all with extremely fast greens and a lot of undulation, so Ember's scores were very respectable. She is definitely feeling great about her game right now, and the rest of us are going to work hard in the upcoming two weeks so we feel great about our game too as the season is coming to a close. 

50th Anniversary Events | Assembly Hall's Greatest Games

The University of Illinois is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Assembly Hall on March 2, 2013. In it's first 50 years, nearly 10 million fans have seen over 700 games at the Hall, creating countless memories.  We asked Fighting Illini fans to recall their personal memories, both for basketball and entertainment events, at the historic building. This Saturday when the Nebraska Cornhuskers come to town (4:15 pm tip on BTN) we'll be celebrating the 50^th anniversary of Assembly Hall. The grand opening of the $8.35 million architectural marvel was on March 2, 1963, exactly 50 years to the day from Saturday's game. During those first 50 years, the Fighting Illini have an impressive record of 553-149 (.787) in the building and have created countless memories for the more than 9.6 million fans that have come to watch them play. What a night at Assembly Hall. On Feb. 7, 2013, Tyler Griffey made an uncontested layup as time expired to give the Fighting Illini a thrilling 74-72 win over No. 1 Indiana in front of a sellout crowd at Assembly Hall.

Brandon Paul got the assist on Griffey's game-winner, inbounding the ball from the right corner with 0.9 on the clock. Griffey cut down the lane un-guarded, got the shot off quickly, the ball went though the hoop as the clock hit 0.0 and bedlam ensued at Assembly Hall.
